It’s been over a year since my last post. While I could begin with apologies, that seems hardly necessary. A lot has happened. Seven countries, thirteen plane rides, more than a few buses, and four apartments—I can’t seem to sit still.
Something curious happens when you graduate college. The track that you have been running on for the past 22 years falls away. What’s left is an expanse of unkempt grass and brush in every direction. You start cutting a path with no map and where you end up is anyone’s guess. With a (very short) year under my belt and just a little bit of life lived, it’s time to look back and figure out where I’ve been. I’ll hold you in suspense for the exact geographical where. If you are wondering where I am now, the answer is Brooklyn.
Starting next Monday, check in twice a week for postings. Sometimes it’ll be an essay, sometimes a review, sometimes photography and, only occasionally, a video. It’ll be eclectic and all-over-the-place, though I’ll try to keep some level of continuous narrative. I don’t want you to get lost, even if I do.
So, if you are into traveling, it’ll be worth it to check out what I have to say about the ride. Until then, happy travels.
